HB #8 - Was Sherry Pierce's Great-grandfather John-Joseph-Joseph-Joseph-Caleb-John OLIN?

In the last issue of The OLINews there was a reprinted article about William OLIN, a 103 year-old man who claims to be one of the handful of surviving veterans of WWI.
The article was a little flawed. First, his name is Willmount, not William - that is, if he is who he says he is. Sherry Pierce, his Great-niece thinks that the actual Willmount may have met with foul play (fratricide?) and the man calling himself Willmount may in fact be his brother/half-brother, Ano. There was lots of drama in that family a few generations back. I recommend you check out Sherry's multiple posts on the subject on the Ancestry.com OLIN Board: http://boards.ancestry.com/surnames.olin/mb.ashx
Her screenname is "circulating".
Her search for her OLIN heritage is also the subject of one of our Queries: http://olinfamilysociety.nozonenet.com/cms/node/29

Here is John's OFS webcard: http://olinfamilysociety.org/webcards/wc03/wc03_499.html

Fortunately for the OFS, Sherry emailed me last night about a half-priced special Ancestry.com's DNA testing division was running. She wants to have her father take a "Y" chromosome test to see if they are related biologically. I say it is fortunate because the OFS's DNA Testing Committee was just debating how many tests we want to recommend the OFS pay for. Half-price helps my argument that the OFS should pay for at least 6 tests (one from each of the 2 sub-branches of the 3 main branches that we know exist) in order to create a more comprehensive database. Thank you, Sherry, and I hope you are one of ours!
