LiLi TOWNSEND of Maui, Hawaii

I've been meaning to blog about meeting my 7th Cousin (Twice Removed) LiLi Townsend of Maui, Hawaii last Saturday. She is such an amazing woman! She has travelled the world, has an interesting perspective on life and is easily the happiest and most satisfied 73 year old (she looks 2 decades younger though) I have ever met.

She was staying at an LA landmark, the Sowden House (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Sowden_House) owned by her friend Xorin, of which she was kind enough to give me a full tour - nicest house I've ever been in ever. I knew exactly where it was because its located only 4 blocks down the street from my old Hollywood apt and I used to pass it twice daily on my commute. I took her to another LA landmark, The House of Pies in Los Feliz - I saw Quentin Tarentino there once. After a delightful breakfast I asked if she'd ever been up to the Griffith Observatory, which she had not, so we drove up the hill and walked and chatted for at least another hour.
She was kind enough to visit my home a couple of days later for tea so she could meet Kelly and the boys. Kelly was as impressed by LiLi as I was. LiLi also offered the use of her cottage in Maui which we are eventually going to TOTALLY take her up on!

Her Grandmother Julie was an author and was very involved in bringing the Baha'i faith to America. There might be a book written about her soon.
