HB #18 John-Joseph-Phillip-Benjamin-John-John-Rolla-Harry-Harry-Lorinda (OLIN) McBRIDE and Rindy (OLIN) FULCHER

Ruth put me in touch with a woman she had recently been communicating with named Lorinda (OLIN) McBRIDE. Her line is John-Joseph-Phillip-Benjamin-John-John-Rolla-Harry-Harry-Lorinda (OLIN) McBRIDE. She put me in touch with her sister Rindy (OLIN) FULCHER as well. They are my 4th Cousins, once removed. I sent them digital copies of Warren's books a couple of weeks ago but they have yet to receive them. I hope to get more of my branch involved in the OFS.

HB #17 John-John-John-Henry-Peleg-Henry-Albert-Adelaide-Virgie-Larry-Alisia DAVIS

I was contacted recently by John-John-John-Henry-Peleg-Henry-Albert-Adelaide-Virgie-Larry-Alisia DAVIS. I was able to direct her to an online version of C.C. OLIN's 1893 book which included a mention of her Great-G-Grandfather Albert A. OLIN and his ancestry. I forwarded her branch information to Tom. I also got her 5th Cousin (once removed) Ruth ELLIS, our Editor and John-John-John-Henry branch historian, to agree to contact her.

HB #16 John-John-John-Ezra-Mary Ann-Ezra-Mary-Grace-Edith-Nancy (BENNETT) RAWLINGS

Another member of The Ezra OLIN Tribe contacted me recently. She is John-John-John-Ezra-Mary Ann-Ezra-Mary-Grace-Edith-Nancy (BENNETT) RAWLINGS of Tennessee. She seems knowledgeable about her branch, but she is George S. NYE's Great-G-G-Niece after all. She updated me on her immediate family and forwarded it all to Tom for the database.

I'm hoping to put some of her Tribemates in contact with her.

HB #15 Charles J. OLIN of Mason & Lansing, Michigan

I want to find out who Charles J. OLIN of Mason & Lansing, Michigan was. He was a watchmaker, inventor, and jeweler. He was active in business during the 1870s and 1880s.
I found him after one of his "Self-Centring Combination Chucks" was recently up for sale on eBay. It went for $102.50.
Tom doesn't know how Charles fits into our tree. Any ideas?

Here is an announcement about a patent he developed in 1880:

Olin Chuck-Manufacturing Company

Happy Anniversary!

Three hundred years ago today, John OLIN and Susannah SPENCER exchanged wedding vows. With that simple act, they began the creation of a legacy that today includes tens of thousands of their descendants.

HB #14 Researching Jewish OLINs

I have been spending a lot of time the last few weeks researching the three known Jewish OLIN families. Nathen GABRIEL of North Vancouver, BC has been invaluable in my research. I wrote an article about my research for The OLINews and have posted the article in parts in the forum entitled "Jewish OLINs" (http://olinfamilysociety.org/cms/forum/44). The article has been reviewed by historians from all three families for accuracy - and their knowledge of Judaism.

Take my poll. Please!

With apologies to Henny Youngman, I ask everyone to please take a few seconds to respond to the polls I've posted on this site. To you, they might look like innocuous filler or fluff, but they do have a serious purpose related to the mission of the OFS. It is my hope that we'll learn things that will help us in various ways.

So, please, take my polls!

Remember the 300th!

The 300th anniversary of the marriage of John OLIN and Susannah SPENCER is less than a month away, but it's not too late to help us celebrate it. Go right now to the anniversary announcement and then get involved! Join a celebration in your area or host one of your own. Let's all celebrate our family!

HB #13 - Calling all Branch Historians!

As the Historian for the entire John & Susannah (SPENCER) OLIN Family I focus most on the more notable members of our Clan. I would like change that somewhat.

HB #12 - My OLIN Obsession

Since I can remember, I have had a strong compulsion to find out more about the OLIN Family.
